I haven’t done this in a little while & I think it’s time I did, don’t you? It’s a round up of just some of the blog posts that caught my eye this week.
First, though not “fiber”, I can’t help but share the “support your local quilt shop” blog tour going on right now. I support local & indie & I do love this idea – and I think, as fiber lovers, we should organize a “support your local yarn shop” blog tour as well – but that’s an idea for someone much more organized than me (just let me know if you do!)
and this is a wonderful idea that I just heard of, it’s the beautiful bloggers afghan blanket, you make a couple of crochet-only squares, they all get joined together & one person wins the whole beautiful blanket! Her deadline is the end of January so you must act quick
I thought I’d do a bit of a craft round up today, since I know I’ve been mainly reading & not getting any crafty done. Well, actually I am crafting — but not really anything exciting enough to share. I’ve mentioned a few times, I’m teaching knitting & crocheting at Michael’s, so my craft time has been mainly working on getting certified & working on samples for the class: things like a single crochet square, or a 4 round granny square scarf… I am planning on sharing some of my samples, just to show what it’s like to get certified, but haven’t taken any photos yet.
You’ve probably noticed the amount of scrap projects I’ve been sharing the last month or so – I’ve always loved scrap projects & have always made a lot of them. For years now, I’ve gotten most of my yarn from yard sales & thrift stores (or at least until Knit Picks came around, a great affordable option for us in the US) & have always had to make do with odd skeins.
Silk Moon Crescent garter stitch shawl & info about a knitalong including prizes – I am DYING to start this baby!! do I need another project ?? but it’s garter & it’s stripes & it’s a shawl!
I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to read my blogs & I’m always behind. I’ve actually been thinning out my list a bit, I’m trying to cut back on some of my non-craft blogs, so I have more time to read my actual craft blogs. have you found any new craft blogs you just love lately? Have you done a round up blog post? Please share!
