Good morning! Happy Friday!
I have an FO to share with you today, it’s the grrlfriend market bag. But it’s not the one I shared with you last week on WIP Wednesday – I actually started & finished another one before I even thought to take a wip photo!
Details: size 8 circular needle throughout, emily orr’s circular beginning, 100 stitches as written, repeated the main lace pattern 31 times for body of bag.
did 6 rows / 3 garter stitch ridges, using same main color (again, ‘cause i’m too lazy to switch to a cc). Starting to get very low on yarn.
handles about 16” long. 3 needle bind off.
The above photo (from August 5th) shows the bag already in use – I started putting goodies from the garden in the bag, and as everyone else who has made this bag says, the handles stretch a crazy amount & I should’ve gone with my gut instinct of 12”. I unpicked the seam & ripped back after using the bag just once.
Everything looks very green in the garden, which is good, but it’s still not producing like we were last year. The peas are all gone, but I planted another packet of seeds for a fall crop. The kale has finally turned bitter, and I planted the last few kale seeds that I had for a fall crop as well – all 8 seeds, so I’m not expecting to see a lot of kale! I tried to find more kale seeds at 2 locations & there were absolutely no varieties to be found.
