meet up with a fiber buddy

This past Friday I was so very lucky to meet up with an online buddy, Linda of Alottastitches. I’ve mentioned her blog a couple of times before – especially her cute Wriggly Ripple afghan. She constantly is sharing unique crafty ideas with her readers – most recently taking a felted wool sweater & adding a couple of layers to their boots, to keep their feet warmer while shoveling. Pure genius.

You know how you meet someone & you just click? That was pretty much us when we first started chatting online, & when we met, it was even more so. We rather think we’re related somehow, because we have so, so much in common.

We met up for lunch at Friendly’s (yes, we like the new fries) & then drove up the street to the library, where we hung out for the next few hours. We brought our looms, shared our woven scarves, admired each other’s hand knit socks,

shared various projects we’ve each made recently,

talked about our families, our men, our careers, went off on crazy tangents, and spent countless minutes looking for our keys! We swapped some yarn, Linda kindly shared some craft magazines with me (yay for vintage! Thank you, Linda!), and just generally giggled, laughed, and had a great time.

I’m so grateful, Linda, to have met a new friend!

And most importantly, Wedgie says thank you to Emily, he loves his new toy…
