There’s a new craft related meme going around, called Maniac Monday, that I heard about through Ravelry, where you talk about things you’ve done over the weekend & things you are planning on working on over the next week. I probably won’t participate regularly, as most of my projects I share on Work in Progress Wednesday, but this week I have a lot of projects / to do things that I really wouldn’t share on WIP Wednesday. So let’s get started, shall we?
My embroidery: I need to do some practice on some separate material. I finished all the easy stuff I knew how to do on the first pillowcase
and have started on the second one
I have lots of french knots to do, & I’ve never, ever been able to do a french knot right. Ever.
Anyone here have a green thumb? I have this plant
that I think may be a jade? Maybe? I want to transplant one or two of the babies
into a different pot. Not knowing what plant it is, I have no idea how to transplant the baby without killing it. You can’t really see in the photo, but I have a 3rd baby starting to grow, so I’d like to try to take at least one of them. Help!
I also have a freeform afghan with a ton of ends I need to finish working on, that I forgot to photograph.
It’s also Knit & Crochet Blog week! I wanted to participate last year, & well, I think I played one day & just sort of forgot about it. Today’s topic is Colour Lovers. Anyone who reads my blog knows I love color – I prefer to play with color over texture, lace, cables, etc., any day. I love bright colors, or muted colors, or perfect neutrals… anything goes, really. I don’t really have a wonderful color sense, I don’t think, but I still enjoy playing with color all the same. I’d rather make a stack of mismatched socks or a pile of scrap granny squares, over a plain, one color, textured sweater. One color? Boring!
Ever since seeing & reading about Pippi Longstocking or Punky Brewster, I thought mismatched anything was cool. I actually started knitting solely for the purpose of being able to knit a never ending pile of mismatched, brightly colored socks
