This is a solid pink version of my free pattern, York Shawlette. I originally designed the shawlette for self-striping yarn, but wanted to see what it would look like in a solid color. I think it looks totally different!

This is a very easy, top down shawl, that is easy adapt to other weights or gauges of yarn. Just 100 grams will make a shawlette!
Materials: DK weight yarn, 2 50 gram ball, H crochet hook
Gauge: 11 dc = 4â€
Abbreviations (pattern uses US terms):
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
dc: double crochet
beg V: sl st into ch sp. Ch 4, dc into same sp
V st: dc, ch 1, dc (all in same sp)
Ch 5, join with a sl st to 1st ch to form a circle.
Row 1: Ch 4 (counts as dc & ch now & throughout), turn. 6 dc into circle, ch 1, dc into circle: 8 dc.
Row 2: Ch 4, turn. Dc into ch 1 sp (beg V st made). Ch 1, 1 dc in next 2 dc, 1 V st in next 2 dc. 1 dc into next 2 dc, ch 1, V st in last ch sp.
Row 3: Beg V st into 1st ch sp, ch 1. Dc in next dc, dc in ch 1 sp. Dc in next 3 dc, dc in next ch 1 sp. V st in next 2 dc. Dc in ch sp. Dc in next 3 dc. Dc in ch sp, dc in next dc. Ch 1, V st in last ch sp.
Row 4: Beg V st into 1st ch sp. 2 dc in ch sp, 1 dc in ea dc across to next ch sp, dc in ch sp. V st in next 2 dc. Dc in ch sp, dc across to ch sp, 2 dc in ch sp. V st in last ch sp.
Row 5: Beg V st into 1st ch sp. Ch 1, dc in ea dc across to next ch sp, dc in ch sp. V st in next 2 dc. Dc in ch sp, dc in ea dc across to V st. Ch 1, V st in last V st. (6 ch 1 sp).
Rep row 4-5 as many times as desired, then repeat row 4 once.
Row 1: Ch 1, turn. 1 sc in 1st dc. 2 sc in ch 1 sp, sc in ea dc across to ch 1 sp, 2 sc in ch 1 sp. 1 sc in next 2 dc, 2 sc in ch 1 sp, 1 sc in ea dc across, 2 sc in last V sp, 1 sc in 3rd ch of beg ch 4.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in 1st sc. * Ch 5, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc. Rep from * across row.
Row 3 & 4: Ch 5, sl st into 1st ch 5 sp. * Ch 5, sc into next ch 5 sp. Rep from * across row. In last ch 5 loop sp, sl st instead of sc.
End off. Weave in ends, block, and wear with pride!
