Small Crocheted Gift Bag
In this age of being green, why not make yourself a little gift bag? The size is easy to customize & the bag is quick to make! After your recipient opens his gift, he can reuse the bag for next year’s gift to you!

Finished size approx. 5.5” by 6”

By Anastaciaknits on Ravelry/ anastaciaknits@verizon.net
Gauge: 3 sts = 1” in sc/dc pattern (gauge not important)
Materials:
• 1.5 ounces worsted weight yarn, 90-110 yards, this pattern is perfect for using up scraps! I used acrylic for my bags; cotton also works well, but you can use any fiber you desire.
• Size G hook
• Yarn needle

Chain 16. If you desire a bigger or smaller bag, simply chain more or less stitches in multiples of 2.
In 2nd ch from hook, sc. Dc in next ch, sc in next ch. Repeat across. In last ch, sc & dc. Do not join. Working in opposite side of the chain, continue to sc & dc across as established. In last ch, sc & dc. Do not join, but work in rounds for rest of pattern.
Next & following rounds: dc in sc , sc in dc. Keep repeating in pattern until 1” less than the desired height of bag. I worked for about 5”. Do not turn.

Eyelet row: ch 1, skip st, sc in next st, repeat around.
Next round: sc in ch 1 space, dc in sc. Repeat around in established sc/dc pattern for two more rounds. Cut yarn, weave in ends & enjoy!

Feel free to make as many of these as you like for local craft fairs/auctions/raffles/bazaars, but please
do not sell finished items online. The pattern itself is not for sale. If making for charity, please let me know the name of the charity & include my contact info with the bag (anastaciaknits@verizon.net / anastaciaknits on Ravelry). Thanks!

Thanks to MissRach, bjclark63, & ClaireA for testing the pattern, and to JennBelcher, vapmore, and pitzapooh for their proofreading/tech editing/general all-around suggestions. Also, a big thank you goes out to the The Testing Pool group on Ravelry.
